Downtown San Diego Neighborhoods

The redevelopment and revitalization of San Diego's downtown neighborhoods is quickly becoming a west coast phenomenon. Emerging as a world-class Pacific Rim city, the skyline is changing rapidly and incorporating soaring new high-rises amidst colorful and historic treasures from the city's early beginnings. Without much argument, San Diego enjoys the best weather in the country year round. Ask anyone who lives or visits here to verify that fact. Besides the weather, a world class zoo, beaches and Balboa Park museums to enjoy, there are endless varieties of sports and activities for every interest.

Today there are eight separate districts in this 2.2 square mile downtown, each with a separate and distinctive charm. From Cortez Hill with stunning views of city and bay to the newly emerging Columbia District in the North Embarcadero there are many diverse and exciting areas to explore. The new Padres ballpark, Petco Park has sparked the development of East Village, the future SoHo of the west. The beautiful and enlarged Convention Center has exceeded expectations and attracts groups from all over the country and many for repeat conventions. The expanding cruise ship industry brings visitors from all over the world, many who vow to return over and over.
